Vision

Our goal is to foster cultural understanding, appreciate differences and find strength in diversity.  We will develop global citizens and prepare students to live in a global, multicultural society.  Our entire staff is immersed in the work of student achievement through the lens of racial equity.

We teach the State and National Standards through our Readers and Writers Workshop and our Balanced Math Program.  In Science and Social Studies, our students will engage in research, writing, and the study of geography as they learn about people, places and cultures…once again creating a connection to our International focus.  Students collaborate through project work, establishing a true community of learners that supports and encourages higher level thinking in a rigorous academic environment.

Mary Castle School of International Studies aims to develop internationally-minded students who recognize their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet…thus helping to create a better and more peaceful world.  We invite you to come and visit…to learn what it means to be a citizen of the world.  Get your passport to learning at Mary Castle School of International Studies.

Mary Castle School of International Studies has implemented a systemic approach to student behavior following Rob March's research. The Mary Castle Positive School Wide Behavior Team has established three school wide rules that were based upon research and discipline data within our school. Students are expected to follow these three school rules in all locations of the building. Individual classrooms establish one or two additional rules to help in supporting the expectations within that individual classroom.

Mary Castle School Rules

1. Keep my hands, feet, and objects to myself

2. Be an Active Listener

3. Use encouraging words and show Kindness
