Developmental Reading Assessment (DRA)

DRAs are administered during 1 on 1 reading conferences. The DRA is used to document change overtime in each student’s reading with emphasis on fluency and comprehension. The assessment allows teachers to plan instruction for readers.

STAR Early Literacy

Then STAR Early Literacy is a computer adaptive diagnostic test that measures emergent readers’ proficiency in general readiness, phonemic awareness, graphophonemic knowledge, phonics, comprehension, vocabulary, and structural analysis. The results give the teacher specific
information to guide instruction to meet the needs of students. (Renaissance)

STAR Reading

The STAR Reading computer test provides teachers with student reading levels that help guide instruction. (Renaissance)

STAR Math

The STAR Math computer test provides teachers with student math levels that help guide instruction. (Renaissance)

ISTEP+

The ISTEP+ assessments measure the academic performance of students in English/Language Arts and Mathematics. The assessments consist of two major components: the Basic Skills Assessment and the Applied Skills Assessment. Both assessments measure student mastery of the Indiana Academic Standards. Besides producing individual student information, aggregate ISTEP+ student results are used as primary performance indicators for continuous school improvements.

CAT6 – Terra Nova

Developed and published by CTB McGraw-Hill, the Terra Nova test is a standardized achievement test normed nationally that provides performance data in the areas of reading/language arts and mathematics. It is designed to measure concepts, processes, and objectives taught throughout the nation. Reported scores include NCE, NP, and GE.

ISTAR- Indiana Standards Tool for Alternate Reporting

Students who perform significantly above or below grade-level may have personal learning goals that cannot be adequately measured
with a grade-level standardized test. ISTAR is the measure of accountability for the progress of these individual students within Indiana’s assessment system.

Quarterly Assessments

District developed quarterly assessments in math and language arts. These assessments are administered to all grade levels throughout the district at a designated time each quarter. The assessments are based on standards which have been designated as the standards to be taught at specific grade levels by a designated point in the year.
