PREP - Screenwise for K-6
3/17/2021, 6:30 - 8:00 PM

Devorah Heitner, Ph.D., author of Screenwise, will explain the importance of “mentoring over monitoring” when it comes to kids’ tech use and will provide advice on how to encourage a healthy relationship with media and technology – setting kids up for success, not stress, in the digital age.

Dr. Heitner founded Raising Digital Natives, a place for parents and educators to get practical, timely, and non-judgmental advice to set children up for success in a digital world, and in life.

She works to take the fear out of this emotionally-charged topic and helps parents and educators guide children towards empathy, kindness, and integrity.
Join the MSD of Lawrence Township and Dr. Heitner virtually at 6:30 PM on March 17, 2021 to learn:
  • How parents can support their children’s uses of technology to connect, create, and learn.
  • A framework for deciding what digital platforms and apps are appropriate (or not) for elementary aged kids and tweens.
  • Tips for teaching kids how to self-regulate their screentime.
  • How to empower kids to use technology and digital media for social good.

Spanish translation will be available and ASL interpretation will be provided upon request.
